Fun Fold Card with Masking Technique – Step-by-Step Instructions

Materials Needed:

• Cardstock: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored in half (4 1/4”)

• Designer Series Paper (DSP)

• Textured Note Dies (Largest, Medium, and Smaller Rectangles)

• Blending Brushes & Masks

• Ribbon

• Sentiment Stamp & Ink

• Adhesive & Gems

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Card Base:

• Score the 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” cardstock at 4 1/4” to create a standard card base.

• Trim 2 inches off the front panel to create a fun fold.

2. Decorate the Front Panel:

• Use the largest Textured Note Die to cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP).

• Adhere this DSP piece to the front panel of the card.

• Take a smaller rectangle die and cut out a different piece of DSP.

• Layer and adhere this smaller piece onto the front panel.

3. Masking & Blending:

• Place your mask over a piece of cardstock and use blending brushes to apply colors.

• Once blended, cut out floral elements from the masked design.

• Adhere one flower to the front panel, adding a ribbon and a sentiment for decoration.

4. Inside Panel Decoration:

• Use a medium-sized Textured Note Die to cut another piece of DSP.

• Adhere it to the inside flap of the card.

• Mask and blend flowers onto a separate cardstock piece, cut them out, and adhere them to the inside panel.

5. Finishing Touches:

• Cut a 4” x 5 1/4” white cardstock piece.

• Stamp your sentiment on it and adhere it to the inside of the card.

• Embellish with gems to complete your design!
